Davidoff began with cream, dry cedar, fresh hay and faint baking spice on the cold draw. Soft cream and toasted grain led the opening as cedar, almond and measured white pepper developed. Coffee and roasted nuts built through the center before seasoned oak and espresso deepened the profile without displacing its cream or restraint.

Plasencia opened from a cold draw of cedar, cocoa, dried fruit and pepper. Sweet cedar, dark cocoa, black pepper and toasted nuts created a richer first third. Coffee, leather and raisin-like sweetness added depth before oak, espresso and pepper intensified over a continuing layer of cocoa.

Both cigars shared cedar, coffee, roasted nuts, oak, espresso and pepper, yet their personalities stayed distinct. Davidoff was creamier and more measured through hay, toasted grain, almond and white pepper. Plasencia was darker and more forceful through cocoa, leather, dried fruit, raisin sweetness and black pepper.

Where the Matchup Was Decided

Construction tied 5.0 to 5.0. Davidoff maintained a controlled draw, straight burn and compact ash, while Plasencia combined substantial smoke with reliable combustion. Flavor complexity also tied at 5.0 because both cigars produced clear transitions and layered development from start to finish.

Davidoff won three categories; Plasencia won one; two categories tied.

Draw and burn created Davidoff's first full point of separation. It won both categories 5.0 to 4.5, pairing controlled airflow with a perfectly straight burn. Plasencia remained Outstanding in both, but two technical half-point deficits placed Davidoff in control of the scorecard.

Balance added another half point, 5.0 to 4.5. Davidoff integrated cream, cedar, grain, almond, coffee, nuts, oak, espresso and pepper into a composed progression. Plasencia remained cohesive despite greater size and strength, but Davidoff's precision established a 1.5-point lead before the final category.

Plasencia answered by winning finish 5.0 to 4.0. Its rich, warming and long close gained a full point over Davidoff's long, smooth and gently warming finish. That was the largest single-category swing in the matchup, but it could not erase the three earlier advantages Davidoff had built through control and balance.
