My Father Le Bijou 1922
José Garcia introduced Le Bijou 1922 in 2009 as a tribute to his father, whose birth year supplies the number. Its darker-wrapper expression gives the My Father portfolio another distinct line. The personal connection is especially affecting beside the original: a son honors his father, and that father honors the generation before him.
Brick House Classic
J.C. Newman revived Brick House as a Nicaraguan cigar in 2009, bringing an older family name into a new expression. The heritage belongs to the name; the modern cigar begins its own chapter here. That combination gives Brick House an appealing sense of continuity without obscuring the work of developing a new blend.
Alec Bradley Prensado
Prensado adds Honduran manufacturing and a pressed form to this year’s range. Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos give the blend a broader geography than its production location alone suggests. Its defined edges make construction part of the first impression, while the composition supplies the more detailed story beneath the surface.
La Aroma de Cuba Edición Especial
La Aroma de Cuba’s Edición Especial reveals another branch of the Garcia family’s manufacturing work. Beside Le Bijou, it shows how experience at the factory can serve different brand owners and different intentions. The individual blend matters: shared hands and facilities still leave room for a cigar with a purpose of its own.
My Father Original
Jaime Garcia’s 2008 tribute to his father provides the beginning of this two-generation pairing. The original My Father gives Le Bijou context, placing the newer dedication within an already personal portfolio. Read together, their names tell a family story with unusual economy, each cigar marking a different relationship.
Nub Cameroon
Nub Cameroon brings a compact silhouette into a year rich with inherited names. Its short length and substantial diameter make proportion immediately noticeable, while Cameroon wrapper supplies a separate tobacco reference. It earns attention through the physical cigar itself, giving the eye a different place to begin.
Liga Privada No. 9
No. 9 contributes Connecticut Broadleaf and Drew Estate’s traditional premium approach. Its relatively recent Liga Privada name sits comfortably beside the revived Brick House, offering another route to a recognizable brand. Here, a specific wrapper and blending direction establish the story from the outset.
Oliva Serie V
Serie V keeps Oliva’s Nicaraguan ligero emphasis in view as new lines enter the picture. Jalapa tobacco is part of the maker’s account, giving a region within Nicaragua its place in the blend. The original family provides an established fuller expression against which the year’s newer choices can be considered.
Diamond Crown Maximus
Maximus reveals a different part of the Newman portfolio from Brick House. Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper from the Oliva growing family and Fuente manufacturing underpin the fuller Diamond Crown expression. The comparison opens a view of one brand owner working through distinct agricultural and manufacturing relationships.
Padrón 1926 Serie
The 1926 Serie honors José Orlando Padrón and takes its name from his birth year. Introduced in 2002, it makes a natural companion to Le Bijou 1922 in this retrospective. Each carries a family memory into an individual line, with Padrón’s emphasis on aging and pressed construction giving its tribute a familiar form.
Looking back at 2009
